Identify the job that you want and find a course to get to it

So you are in a job you hate. You don't like the profession you're in. And you're sticking in it. So how effective is that for you so far? Not really? If you're staying in something that you hate you're going to get quiet stress. And you're not going to feel good going in everyday. Now, let's be realistic. Quiet at the moment, there's a lot of countries that are going through an economic recession and people feel, you know, very very [inaudible] slow and very much imprison at the countless of jobs. Not all countries are like that and there are opportunities in other countries. If you are lucky enough to be in a country where there are opportunities, I would suggest that you immediately get your CV done. Make it a two page document. It is essentially a marketing document. Start with your most recent position where you are at the moment, what you're doing, then continue on and all the previous jobs you've been in. Put the tasks you've done, the action you took and the result you got. Those only the good one. And send off your CV. What's the worst thing that can happen? Now if you are in a job where you are paying a mortgage and there's nobody else working or you feel very much that you can't move, identify what you would like to do and go off and find a course whether it's an evening course or a Saturday course or a course over 2 or 3 years. It doesn't matter as long as you're making strategic move to get to the job that you want to do. Now, if I'm going to ask you a couple of questions. I want you to maybe write these down and when you are at home tonight just have a look at them both and read them and then close your eyes and answer the questions: What do you want? What will I do for you? In what way? What stops you from achieving what you want? What talents and skills do you have to achieve these? What we'll see when you do these? What will you hear? How would you feel? And just looking at what are the opportunities are available to you? When you do that and when you close your eyes, you reach a much more deeper level and you may get more answers. So, essentially, if you can move, move. Identify the job you want to go to. Get your CV ready. Go and have a chat with your career coach. Look through some coaching things on the internet and just decide who you want to use. Look for interview tips. Prepare for an interview. For the sense of your CV, just a marking document to get you in the door. If you don't want to get that and you're not in a position to move, identify what you'd really love to do. Find that course. If you want it, you will find it. And make strategic moves to work towards that course so you can work towards the job that you want to get. And you deserve it and please please do that.
