Recommendations for starting a meditation regimen

Thiret__________ What would you recommend, person like myself or person watching um, how long should they, you know, should they, um, should they start meditating maybe ten minutes and then next day they try go fifteen um, should they do it every day, should they do it three times a week, what would you recommend? __________Tom Von Deck__________ Um, definitely everyday even if it's even, even if it's only for 5 or 10 minutes whatever they can do, up to maybe an hour or so, and, and in the beginning it might be really hard to focus sometimes you can just, do it in blocks like if you have a fi-, or if you have a 30minute session you can do, a few uh, 5 minute blocks and in between you can, you can do some, warm-up exercises that help prepare you mind and body for meditation. It does help to have a straight back stack that, and stack your vertebrae one on top of another, and then tighten your chin that does help in a lot of cases. __________J.J. Thiret__________ Oh I see, and then um, with your students do you teach them how to breathe? __________Tom Von Deck__________ In most country, yeah there is an alternate master breathing art [? and ?] when you breathe in one and out the other. __________J.J. Thiret__________ And is that, is that beneficial to do with meditation? __________Tom Von Deck__________ It helps, yeah if you do it right before you meditate, that can, it can help you a lot breathing exercises can be very helpful to the second stage for meditation so that, your monkey mind guise become calmer, and then it's easier to pay attention to uh, with other monkeys that you are after and mind.
